For Distributed Proofreaders we needed a tool to chop multipage TIF- and PDF-files into PNG-files with a page each. The PNG-files should be in two versions: One that is good for OCR (1-bit depth) and one that is good for humans to look at (4-bit depth).

The tool is called convert-to-dp and is released under the GPL.
